LEVEL 12
Level 12 helps students to develop into algebraic thinkers with practice with
equations, including
fractions, decimals, exponents, as well as beginning work with the concept of
functions. Students
also increase their facility with decimals by rounding, truncating, and
comparing decimals.
Sublevel 12.1
This level begins by challenging students to increase their skill in solving
algebraic equations (with
one variable) to include equations that contain fractions and decimals.
Sublevel 12.2
At this sublevel, students can advance their decimal skills with practice with
rounding, truncating,
and comparing decimals.
Sublevel 12.3
Review and reinforcement of concepts covered in previous sections.
Sublevel 12.4
Students are now asked to develop their algebraic skills by solving one-variable
equations involving
exponents.
Sublevel 12.5
Here, students start to increase their abstract algebraic thinking by working
with the concept of
functions. They practice by substituting in for the variables in equations using
the function format.
Final Review & Test
Students will review all the skills covered at this level. After the review
process, there will be a
final test to make sure conceptual understanding is developing properly, before
moving ahead.
