LEVEL 3
At Level 3, students work more with numbers up to 100, adding and subtracting
numbers without carrying or borrowing. Also, students are introduced to the
concepts of place value systems, odd and even numbers, comparing values (greater
than, less than, and equal to), as well as several problem-solving techniques.
Toward the end of Level 3, students begin working with numbers up to 1000.
Sublevel 3.1
Here, students will learn basic concepts of place value systems.
Sublevel 3.2
This section will introduce basic concepts of ‘less than’, ‘greater than’, and
‘equal to’. Students will work with several new symbols, logical expressions,
and problem-solving techniques.
Sublevel 3.3
This sublevel introduces ‘odd’ and ‘even’ numbers. These concepts are used to
enhance students’ logical thinking skills toward building their understanding of
various inherent properties of numbers.
Sublevel 3.4
Students review and reinforce their work from earlier sublevels.
Sublevel 3.5
Students will practice adding and subtracting two-digit numbers up to 100,
without carrying or barrowing.
Sublevel 3.6
Addition and subtraction practice with three-digit numbers is introduced, as are
more place value concepts.
Final Review & Test
Students will review all the skills covered at this level. After the review
process, there will be a final test to make sure conceptual understanding is
developing properly before moving ahead.
