LEVEL 6
At this level, students increase the range of their addition and subtraction
skills to include four-
and five-digit numbers. Similarly, they will expand their place value skills, as
well as their
understanding of the properties of multiplication.
Sublevel 6.1
Students will practice addition and subtraction with the goal of increasing the
comfort level for
problems with numbers having up to four- and five-digit numbers.
Sublevel 6.2
This section increases the level of place value work.
Sublevel 6.3
Students review and reinforce their work from earlier sublevels.
Sublevel 6.4
Students will practice multiplying numbers up through 100.
Sublevel 6.5
This section helps students to master properties of arithmetic operations
(including addition,
subtraction, and multiplication), in the context of complex expressions.
Sublevel 6.6
This section introduces division through problems designed to help build an
intuitive understanding of
the inverse relationship between multiplication and division. Also, here,
SmartZoid introduces some
of the fundamental concepts of fractions.
Sublevel 6.7
Word problems are used to practice the application of arithmetic (including
multiplication) in a ‘real
world” context.
Final Review & Test
Students will review all the skills covered at this level. After the review
process, there will be a
final test to make sure conceptual understanding is developing properly, before
moving ahead.
