LEVEL 8
This level introduces basic pre-algebra skills through the concepts of substituting numbers in for
variables, as well as combining like terms, in equations. There will be deeper levels of practicing
basic fractions and division skills. Students will do some early work with factors, and also develop
their logical thinking about odd and even numbers.

Sublevel 8.1
Students will work to develop their pre-algebra skills by practicing substituting given numbers for
variables, in equations using all four of the basic operations.

Sublevel 8.2
Students will continue practicing substituting for variables in equations, including simplifying by
combining like terms. Also, they will develop their abstract and logical thinking skills as related
to properties of odd and even numbers.

Sublevel 8.3
Review and reinforcement of concepts covered in previous sections.

Sublevel 8.4
Review and reinforcement of concepts covered in previous sections.

Sublevel 8.5
Here, students will deepen their work with fraction concepts, including work with reciprocals,
reducing, mixed numbers, and improper fractions. Also, they will work with factors, as well as prime
and composite numbers.

Sublevel 8.6
In this level, students will continue to practice their division skills, with problems involving
remainders.

Final Review & Test
Students will review all the skills covered at this level. After the review process, there will be a
final test to make sure conceptual understanding is developing properly, before moving ahead.
