| SmartZoid Learning Philosophy
Individualized Learning. All children should receive the same opportunities to excel in their education. However, your child's way and speed of learning is unique from other children. SmartZoid enables students to progress at their own individual pace. A student who learns faster will get more challenging homework and assignments that will help him or her learn more rapidly. A student who needs more time to solidify concepts will get equally rewarding homework and assignments that are tailor-made to his or her learning needs. SmartZoid's "smart" program has millions of problems developed on both basic and abstract levels. SmartZoid's program accommodates and personalizes to a student's learning habits, understands his or her strengths and weaknesses, and prepares the next sets of practice sessions, homework, and tests just as a teacher or tutor might develop a one-on-one learning program for your child in Elmentary School math, Middle School math and starting High School math. Accuracy and Speed. SmartZoid values these two fundamental learning principles as important for students for mastery in many different subjects. We encourage the student to not only get the answer right, but to do it in a timely manner, as well. SmartZoid carefully monitors each student's accuracy and speed in every assignment on a daily basis. It prepares practice sessions and homework based on the student's performance. The types of problems will repeat several times until the student achieves consistency in accuracy and speed. Repetition. Repetition is a fundamental element to develop consistency in accuracy and speed. It is a proven method used by educators all over the world. SmartZoid repeats similar-types of problems several times, and several days in a row, to help students achieve consistency in accuracy and speed. Sometimes a student will answer all the problems accurately within or better than the expected time. In spite of that, SmartZoid will still repeat the same types of problems over the next several days to ensure both accurate math assessment and that the student develops mastery in the core areas of the subject. Constant and Positive Feedback. SmartZoid is committed to providing regular feedback to communicate to the student and parents the ongoing ever-changing ability of the student. This will help the student to gain confidence and motivation, while communicating to the parents specific areas that need more attention, or skills that have been successfully mastered. SmartZoid gives students immediate feedback during assignment completion, and also provides feedback to the student and parents via e-mail. We believe that parental support of the SmartZoid program is a crucial element to the student's success. To that end, we support parents providing their children with necessary encouragement, feedback, and rewards to help them be successful in their educational goals. Regular Practice. Regular practice is key for development of accuracy and speed toward mastery of a subject. It helps to build a positive attitude, better motivation, patience, and greater self-esteem as the student moves toward completing each level of the SmartZoid program. After the student logs-in, he will see the assignment for the day. Once he completes the assignment, he may work on up to two more assignments. If the student does not complete any assignments for three consecutive days, e-mails will be sent to the parent and the student stressing the importance of regular practice. These emails are sent to the parents of students at all levels of mathematics including Elementary School math and Middle School math. |
