SmartZoid - Online Math
How SmartZoid
works?
Parents will need to register themselves and their child(ren) separately to get
the benefits of SmartZoid. If you have not registered already, please click the
following link to begin the
registration; you will be guided step-by-step.
Assessment Tests
Once the registration is complete, your children can login using their own Login
ID and Password. Our online math program will start by giving at least 1-2
evaluation tests (sometimes up to 4) that need to be completed by your child.
Your child can take all the tests on one day, or he/she can space them out over
a few days. Typically, most children complete all of them in one day. Let them
do their best to answer all of the questions very carefully. SmartZoid will
adjust the questions on each test so as to best match your child's skill levels
and to be able to create practice and homework assignments specifically designed
for your child's needs. Remember to keep paper and pencil handy, in case your
child is given problems that are tricky to answer mentally. For more information
about Assessment Tests please

Initial SmartZoid Level
After our online math program is satisfied that the current skill level of your
child has been accurately estimated, then it places your child into an
appropriate SmartZoid level. Regular homework assignments are created, and
presented along with appropriate tutorials, each time that your child logs on to
SmartZoid.
SmartZoid Supplemental Math Curriculum
SmartZoid online math is organized into levels, and each level is organized into
sublevels. SmartZoid online math program will give your child math exercises to
improve the basic and advanced skills on a regular basis. Every day your child
will get a new exercise, and SmartZoid recommends that he/she complete at least
that one assignment. For those who are interested in doing extra work, it will
be possible to do up to an additional two new SmartZoid math exercises each day.

Tracking the Progress
As a parent you also can log on to your parent account using your Parent Login
ID and Password to check on Progress Reports and Activity Reports, preferably
every day, or at least once a week. A Progress Report will indicate how fast
your child is progressing in each level, the length of time in each sub-level,
number days practiced in each level, and expected date of completion of the
entire level. The Activity Report provides details of every single assignment
completed by your child within a time range that you have specified. The
accuracy and speed of completion of each assignment are available in a
convenient chart. For those interested in checking an assignment that was
completed on a particular day, double-clicking the assignment will bring up the
screens that were completed by your child. The screen will indicate if the
question was answered correctly or not.
Online Math Tutorials
SmartZoid provides several animated
online math tutorials. These tutorials will be available to the students
when they log on to begin learning. Students can use them whenever they want to
learn the basics of the specified skill.
Practice and Homework Modes
In the first few days that your child begins a level or sub-level, the SmartZoid
online math program will give your child hints and enough feedback for him/her
to learn the new skills comfortably. In addition, the system will give him/her
simple exercise problems during those initial days. This is called "Practice"
mode. During this "Practice" time, your child is developing the fundamental
concepts of the skills for that sublevel. The system will indicate immediately
if a problem was answered correctly or not, so that an answer can be corrected
immediately and prior to submitting it for grading. The SmartZoid system
monitors your child’s progress on a daily basis, and based on your child’s
progress, the system will slowly increase the complexity of each problem or
assignment.
At some point SmartZoid will remove the hints and feedback to help your child
master the skills. This is called "Homework" mode. In this mode, SmartZoid
online math program will no longer indicate instantly if the problem was
answered correctly or not, but will wait until the entire problem set is
submitted for grading. The system will adapt to his/her learning speed. It is
important that the child not worry about answering every question. If s/he does
not know what to do, s/he can skip to the next problem. The system will
automatically adjust the speed, complexities, number of problems, and feedback,
as per your child's needs. So it is very important that your child completes at
least one SmartZoid homework assignment each day. For more details about
progress and homework modes please
Intermediate and Final Tests
As soon as the system determines that your child has mastered the skills in that
sublevel, the system will move him/her to the next sublevel through the
"Sublevel test" also called "Intermediate test". This process repeats in each
sublevel, in each level, moving the child from one sublevel to the next. Once
the child completes all the sublevels in a level, the system automatically
assigns Review homework work for the next few days. This Review homework will
contain problems from all the skills in that level. Once the system determines
that your child has mastered all the skills in that level, it will automatically
promote him/her to the next level after the successful completion of a "Final
Test".
The process repeats this way for each level.
Tools and Flexibility in Learning
SmartZoid online math program provides several tools for parents to monitor the
progress of children and to manage personal details. In addition, SmartZoid
provides various tools to manually control your child's progress along with its
enriched automated system. Using
SmartZoid Specific Skills,
you can choose a specific skill you would like your child to practice and assign
it to him/her. For example, if you decided to add “Long Multiplication”, your
child will receive additional assignments in Long Multiplication, beyond the
daily Practice/Homework assignments chosen by SmartZoid.
